DSMlink the Overview -

ECM Tuning (DSMLink) is the datalogger and tuning tool for the first and second generation (1990-1999) turbocharged Mitsubishi Eclipses, Eagle Talons and Plymouth Lasers. Rest assured, this is not just another datalogger. This is a full-fledged datalogger and tuning tool. DSMLink not only provides high-resolution datalogging facilities, but also provides the tuning tools necessary to actually do something with all that data. DSMLink provides the user with fuel and ignition timing adjustment facilities inside the factory ECU. You retain all the driveability of the factory-calibrated fuel and timing maps during cruise operation, but gain full control over things at wide open throttle. You simply specify RPM-based adjustments and DSMLink automatically creates the 3-dimensional mapping used internally by the ECU. It's a very easy, yet very powerful way to tune your car's performance at the track.

For any questions or in depth descriptions please refer to www.ecmtuning.com for their is a wealth of information regarding DSMLink and tuning your vehicle on the website. Also do not hesitate to contact us regarding DSMLink either, it's what we use in our own vehicle's.

Also please note when selecting the following options they are only used as default settings by the ECU. As soon as you connect you can change these to anything you like so you are not stuck with the same settings forever. They are just used as backup for emergency situations for when the battery dies and your laptop is not around to manipulate the base selections.

If you would like your base settings on your ECU for your idle (750 stock), stutter box launch (4500rpm stock), or rev limit (7500rpm stock) please contact us after placing your order and they can be set to whatever you prefer.

GM MAF and MAFT: If you do NOT plan to run a GM MAF at all, then you can ignore this entire section. It is NOT required to run a GM MAF to use ECMLink. It's simply an option for those that need it.

When selecting MAF Type below, please be aware of the difference between running a GM MAF straight to the ECU using  GM MAF cablevs. running a GM MAF through a MAF translator. If you're running a MAF translator, you should select the option for GM with MAFT.

If you plan to run the GM MAF straight to the ECU without a MAFT, then you will also need one of the GM MAF cables. This can be added as an order option if you need it.

"ECMLink is the result of nearly 3 years of work. We took an already perfectly good package and made it better. A LOT better. Everything was redesigned, rebuilt, and recoded to roll in everything we've learned from our first 6 years of business. V3 isn't really an upgrade as much as it is a completely new product! The full feature list just isn't practical in this small space."

Ordering process: If you need help with the basic ordering process, please contact us for assistance.

After ordering: Once you have submitted payment for your order, we'll look it over and get back to you with an e-mail that details the next steps. Please be patient on this e-mail response. It may take a few hours up to a day (or more if placed on the weekend!) to get back to you.

Turn around time: If you are placing an order that includes socket service, then you will need to send us your ECU to be socketed. As long as we receive your ECU by UPS, we can almost always get it back out the same day we receive it. Other carriers may add a day's delay. If you are placing an order without socket service and do so before noon eastern time, we can usually get it out same day.

Socket/conversion Check to see if your ECU needs to be socketed. If you need to send us your EPROM ECU to be socketed, then be sure to select the Socket EPROM ECU option below.

If you need to convert your non-EPROM (1990-1997) ECU to EPROM, then select the non-EPROM Conversion option below.

GM MAF and MAFT: If you do NOT plan to run a GM MAF at all, then you can ignore this entire section. It is NOT required to run a GM MAF to use ECMLink. It's simply an option for those that need it.

When selecting MAF Type , please be aware of the difference between running a GM MAF straight to the ECU using our GM MAF cable vs. running a GM MAF through a MAF translator. If you're running a MAF translator, you should select the option below specifically for GM with MAFT.

If you plan to run the GM MAF straight to the ECU without a MAFT, then you will also need one of our GM MAF cables. This can be added below as an order option if you need it.

Speed density note: If you plan to run speed density instead of a mass airflow sensor, you'll need to select Stock MAF as your MAF Type and then simply configure the ECU yourself when you get it installed in your car. To keep the order form from getting any more complicated, we have chosen to leave speed density off the list because that selection requires even more information (which MAP sensor you have installed and on which ECU input, which varies depending on ECU, etc.).

Settings below: The settings below are used to provide an initial configuration in your flash module when we ship it to you. You can definitely change all these settings yourself at any time, including injector compensation and MAF type or switch to speed density, etc., etc.

1. ECU Type: 1g, 2g or Galant

2.  Injector size

3. MAF Type

4. Desired User ID for forum

5. socketing or eprom conversion needed? yes/no

It is strongly reccomend to call before purchasing, and it will be neccassary to contact us prior to order completion to have all information ready for your order.
